The most common cause of a garage door not opening properly is old or broken springs. This time, however, the root of the problem was the garage door cables. They were worn and frayed, which prevented the door from opening evenly. We replaced the old, deteriorating cables on each side of the garage door with cables of matching properties. This solved the problem with the door opening unevenly.
While we were at it, we also lubricated the garage door springs. When we left, the system was as good as new.
